Hezbollah popular support

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf says the presence of massive crowds at the funeral of Hezbollah’s martyred leaders was a testament to the resistance movement’s unbreakable popular support. Qalibaf praised the power and unity of Hezbollah. He stressed that Hezbollah's resistance and commitment to Lebanon's security make it impossible for enemies to eliminate the movement from the country's political and security landscape. Highlighting Hezbollah's defense against Israeli aggression, he noted the movement's role in maintaining Lebanon's sovereignty.

Palestinian prisoner death

Another Palestinian abducted by Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip has died due to mistreatment and torture by Israeli forces in a regime jail. Two Palestinian prisoners’ rights bodies slammed the death of 35-year-old Mus'ab Hani Haniyeh, who was the father of a nine-year-old child. They said Haniyeh was not suffering from any significant health issues before his detention. Haniyeh’s death has increased the number of Palestinian abductees dying of systematic torture in Israeli prisons since the onset of the regime’s genocide in Gaza to 59. At least, 38 of the fatalities are related to Palestinians abducted from Gaza. The rights bodies voiced grave concern over the dangerous upsurge in the number of Palestinians dying in Israeli jails. They said thousands of civilians are still languishing in Israeli imprisonment and are subjected to torture, starvation, medical neglect, and contagious diseases.

UN Ukraine war resolution

The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution calling for a swift end to the Ukrainian conflict as the US pushes ahead with its peace initiative with Russia. The US-drafted text was adopted with 10 votes in favor, while France, Britain, Denmark, Greece, and Slovenia abstained. This is the first resolution the UNSC has been able to adopt in three years on Ukraine, as previous resolutions were vetoed by Russia. Although European members of the UNSC did not veto the resolution, they criticized it for being too lenient with Moscow. On the other hand, countries such as China, Russia, and the US have all welcomed the resolution.
