Flying warplanes over Beirut funeral exposed enemy’s fear of power, unity of nations: IRGC cmdr.

Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami

The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Israel is afraid of the power and unity of nations, highlighting the regime’s lack of cultural sensitivity, civility, and humanity.

Major General Hossein Salami made the remarks at the official commencement of construction projects in Shiraz on Tuesday morning.

He stressed that “enemies destroy countries, displace nations, and prevent them from utilizing their own resources.”

These “enemies cannot even tolerate the presence of nations in social arenas, and when they witness the grandeur and strength of Muslim nations, they are consumed by anger and political blindness,” he emphasized.

Salami’s comments came just two days after an estimated 1.4 million people, including delegations from nearly 70 countries, participated in the funeral ceremony of Hezbollah leaders Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Israel assassinated Nasrallah on September 27, 2024, and Safieddine on October 3 the same year.

“This powerful display once again highlighted the solidarity of Muslim nations,” Salami stressed, referring to the massive and unprecedented funeral procession for Nasrallah, and his loyal companion, Safieddine.

A particularly striking moment during the funeral procession occurred when four Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese sovereignty as the coffins of the two Hezbollah leaders were being carried around at Beirut’s Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium, passing among the hordes of people.

As the warplanes flew over the funeral, the attendees defiantly chanted “Death to Israel, Death to America, Labbaik Ya Nasrallah” (We are at your service, O’ Nasrallah), humiliating the Zionist entity and demonstrating the resilience and fearlessness of the people.

“The regime’s planes flew over the crowds gathered to bid farewell to the leaders of the resistance, exposing once more their fear and panic in the face of the power and unity of the people,” the IRGC chief stressed, condemning the Tel Aviv’s actions as predatory and hateful.

Salami also asserted that the occupying regime’s behavior “reveals a complete lack of culture, civility, and humanity.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the IRGC chief stressed that Iran possesses all the necessary capabilities to become a great and glorious force in the world.

“From its unique geographical position to its abundant resources, Iran has everything needed for a dignified and independent life. We rely on no country in the world, for we have a rich land and capable people, and the spirit of faith flows through our society—an invaluable asset,” Salami emphasized.

Separately on Tuesday, Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, said that the martyrs of the “Axis of Resistance”, most prominently Nasrallah, watered the sturdy tree of the Resistance Front with their pure blood.

“The magnificent funeral procession of these noble martyrs, attended by millions, showed that the resistance and the heroic Hezbollah continue their path more alive, dynamic, and powerful than ever before,” he stressed.

Israel failed to achieve its declared objectives of freeing captives and eliminating the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement despite killing at least 48,284 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in the besieged Gaza Strip during its 15-month-long genocide in the besieged territory.
