Israel ceasefire violations
The Israeli military has launched fresh strikes on the Gaza Strip in violation of the ceasefire, killing more Palestinians. Two Palestinians lost their lives in new attacks on Khan Yunis. Another Palestinian succumbed to their wounds from a previous attack in Gaza City. In addition, Israeli naval boats opened fire off the coast of Gaza City. Drones also continued to fly nonstop over some areas in the Palestinian territory. Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire since it took effect. The most blatant violations took place late on Tuesday and on Wednesday, which claimed the lives of over 100 Palestinians. Meanwhile, Hamas has released the bodies of two more Israeli captives as part of the ceasefire deal.
Israel West Bank atrocities
There’s no end in sight to Israeli atrocities in the occupied West Bank. In the latest of such violent acts, the regime forces raided the town of Silwad, fatally shooting a 15-year-old Palestinian boy.
Macron's unpopularity
President Emmanuel Macron is now the least popular French President in the past 50 years. That’s according to a new poll in France. The poll conducted by The Verian Group shows Macron’s approval rating has plummeted to 11 percent. The figure puts Macron on a par with his predecessor, François Hollande, whose approval rating dropped to 11 percent in late 2016. Data from other polling institutes also reveal Macron’s unpopularity among the French people. One of them was released earlier this month and put his approval rating at 19 percent. The French head of state is under criticism at home for his decision to raise the retirement age. He has also been facing political dilemma following his decision to dissolve parliament.
