US-Israel Gaza genocide
Death and destruction ravage Gaza as the Israeli military intensifies its air and artillery strikes across the blockaded territory. In one of the deadliest attacks, at least 10 people, including women and children, were killed after Israeli warplanes bombed a building in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Also in the Nuseirat camp, another 10 people were killed after the Israeli military struck a gathering of Palestinian civilians there. Fatalities were also reported following a similar strike on a residential building west of Gaza City. The al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, was also the scene of deadly Israeli attacks. To the south, the Israeli bombing of tents of displaced Palestinians claimed the lives of multiple people. The ongoing Israeli onslaught, which began in October 2023, has so far killed more than 57,880 Palestinians. Nearly 138,100 others have been injured.
Iran's right to enrichment
Iran's foreign minister says the country's right to enrichment is non-negotiable, stressing that any upcoming negotiations will solely focus on Iran's nuclear program and not its defense capabilities. Abbas Araghchi also warned that any move by Europe to trigger the JCPOA snapback mechanism would mark the end of its role in Iran’s nuclear talks.
Russia-Ukraine conflict
The United Nations monitoring mission in Ukraine says the month of June has seen two hundred and 32 civilian deaths in the country’s conflict with Russia. The mission says over 1,300 civilians were also injured in the conflict in June. That makes the month the deadliest for civilians since fighting broke out three years ago. Meanwhile, Russian officials say Ukrainian shelling hit a private house in Belgorod, killing a man. Ukrainian officials also said Russian airstrikes killed at least two people in the western city of Chernivtsi overnight on Saturday. The conflict escalated last month after a major Ukrainian drone attack on a military facility that Kiev said damaged 41 strategic bombers. Russia has responded with wider attacks, including a massive assault by over 700 drones and missiles earlier this week.
