Slamming the greater Israel project
Hezbollah chief has slammed Israel's repeated ceasefire violations, saying that the regime seeks to lay the groundwork for Lebanon’s gradual occupation and the push to draw 'Greater Israel'. Sheikh Naim Qassem says the US and Israel have no business with Lebanon’s national defense strategy. He said they are seeking to present disarmament as the problem. Sheikh Qassem said Hezbollah will never surrender and it will continue to defend Lebanon. He also condemned Israel’s ongoing ceasefire violations and aggressions against Lebanon. Hezbollah chief said the enemy is expansionist and does not adhere to agreements. He said the aggressions have nothing to do with Hezbollah’s weapons. He said the regime seeks to lay the groundwork for the gradual occupation of Lebanon and to draw Greater Israel through the Lebanese front.
Israel violates the Gaza truce
The Israeli military continues to violate the Gaza ceasefire by carrying out strikes in the war-ravaged territory. The southern city of Khan Yunis saw new attacks, including artillery fire. Israeli naval forces also opened fire off the coast of Khan Yunis. In Gaza City, airstrikes hit the al-Tuffah neighborhood. Fresh attacks were also reported in Beit Lahia and the al-Maghazi refugee camp. Medical sources in the Gaza Strip said that during the past 24 hours, hospitals have received eight bodies recovered from under the rubble. The death toll from the genocidal war since October 2023 has risen above 70,120. More than 171,000 others have also been injured.
Russia-India ties
Russian President Vladimir Putin says his country is prepared to provide India with uninterrupted fuel supplies. During high-level talks in New Delhi, Putin announced that several agreements were signed to boost Russia-India cooperation. Moscow is also seeking to expand imports of Indian goods, aiming to raise bilateral trade to $100 billion by 2030. Currently, trade is heavily tilted in Russia’s favor, largely due to India’s energy purchases. The visit comes amid mounting pressure from Washington, which has urged India to reduce its reliance on Russian energy. US officials accuse New Delhi of indirectly funding the war in Ukraine by buying discounted Russian oil. Putin arrived in India on Thursday for a two-day trip. Ahead of his arrival, he told an Indian media outlet that Ukrainian forces must withdraw from the eastern Donbas region.
