A young Palestinian man has succumbed to severe injuries sustained nearly two months ago in an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in the northwestern West Bank, amid the regime's escalating military onslaught on the occupied territory.

Abdul-Rahman Khaled Nawas suffered shrapnel wounds when an Israeli drone attack targeted al-Mansihiya and ash-Shuhada neighborhoods in Nur Shams camp on the evening of December 24, 2024, according to a report by WAFA, the official Palestinian news agency.

He was transferred to Istishari Hospital near Ramallah to receive treatment and was pronounced dead in the late hours of Wednesday.

Hours earlier, a Palestinian teenager succumbed to critical head injuries caused by Israeli forces’ gunfire in the city of Qalqilya.

Local sources told WAFA that 16-year-old Hamid Fadl Muwafi was struck in the head with live ammunition as he was near the controversial separation wall.

He was subsequently transferred to Qalqilya Hospital, where his condition was described as critical.

The Palestinian teenager was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The Israeli military launched its onslaught on the occupied West Bank on January 21, claiming that it was targeting resistance fighters of the Jenin Battalion.

Since the onset of the Gaza war in October 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and illegal settlers have killed at least 923 Palestinians and injured nearly 7,000 in the occupied West Bank.

Last July, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) declared that Israel’s long-standing occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal, demanding the evacuation of all illegal settlements in the West Bank and East al-Quds.
