World condemns Trump plan

US President Donald Trump's plan to take over the Gaza Strip and displace its population continues to draw strong condemnations from across the globe. In addition to Palestinian resistance movements, many countries, including the United States’ allies, have slammed Trump's plan. In the latest reactions, Peru firmly rejected any forced displacement of Palestinians as a violation of human rights and international humanitarian law. Ireland, for its part, rejected Israel’s proposal to accept displaced Palestinians from Gaza. It called for a plan to establish a clear framework for displaced individuals to return to their homes. Spain also reacted to the plan, saying Gaza is the land of the Palestinian people and should be part of the future Palestinian state. Egypt reiterated its strong opposition to any forced displacement of Palestinians, while Turkey described it as a dream that will never come true. India’s Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind also condemned Trump's plan as a direct violation of international law and human rights. The UK, France, Germany, and China, along with the entire Arab world, have also rejected the plan.

Israel ceasefire violations

The Israeli regime continues to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement, as its forces kill and injure more civilians across the war-torn territory. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli forces fatally shot a Palestinian civilian in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Two more Palestinians succumbed to their previous wounds, while four others were injured by Israeli forces' live fire. Rescue teams also continue to recover bodies from the rubble, discovering 28 bodies on Thursday alone. Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to worsen. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees warns that heavy rains and strong winds are putting thousands of Palestinians at risk. UNRWA said many families still remain in temporary shelters amid severe flooding and extreme cold. The new fatalities have raised the official death toll from the Israeli genocide to nearly 47,600. Over 111,600 others have been injured.

Trump targets ICC

The US president has signed an executive order slapping sanctions on the International Criminal Court for what he called baseless investigations targeting America and its close ally Israel. Donald Trump's order said the court had "abused its power" by issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The order also said the tribunal had engaged in "illegitimate and baseless actions targeting the United States and Israel," referring to the ICC’s probes into US forces war crimes in Afghanistan and Israel's onslaught on Gaza. The order includes asset freezes and travel bans against ICC officials, employees, and their family members, along with anyone deemed to have helped the court's investigations. Last November, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former minister of military affairs, Yoav Gallant.
