World rejects Trump plan
Global reactions are pouring in after the US President declared a plan to take over the Gaza strip and forcibly relocate Palestinians to another location. Hamas strongly condemned the plan as a "declaration of intent to occupy" Palestinian territories, with spokesman Hazem Qassem calling for an urgent Arab summit to address the displacement project. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement called Trump’s plan a new Balfour Declaration, stating that 15 months of Israeli crimes committed using American weapons failed to displace the people of Gaza. Russia said Trump’s remarks were shocking and would only ramp up tensions in West Asia. Along the same line, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of rebuilding Gaza without the forced displacement of Palestinians. Other countries, including US allies such as the UK, Spain, and France, have also rejected the proposal.
Gaza tents flooded
Israel continues to launch attacks on the Gaza strip, violating a fragile ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas. Gaza’s health ministry says two Palestinians have been killed and four others injured by Israeli fire in the past day. Civil defense teams have also recovered 28 more bodies from the under the rubble. The humanitarian condition is dire in the strip as sewage and rainwater have entered hundreds of tents and shelters for displaced people, especially in northern Gaza city. In the south, Palestinian officials in Rafah say they are suffering from a shortage of heavy machinery to clear rubble and open roads. Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has killed more than 61,700 people, according to a revised toll by the Gaza Government Media Office.
