Home sweet home

Tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians residing in Gaza’s south for over 15 months are arriving in their homes in the strip’s north. Israeli military allowed Palestinians to cross the so-called Netzarim corridor from the al-Rashid Street on foot starting at 7am local time and the Salah al-Din Street by vehicle from 9am local time. Meanwhile, Qatar mediators announced that Hamas resistance movement has agreed to release the female Israeli captive, Arbel Yehud, and two others by Friday. Doha also said Hamas provided information on the conditions of those who are set to be freed in the first phase of the ceasefire deal. Israel and Hamas agreed to a three-phase ceasefire deal that will take months to be accomplished. During the first phase of the Gaza truce, 33 captives are supposed to be freed in staggered releases over six weeks in exchange for around 1,900 Palestinians held in Israeli jails.

Israel Lebanon aggression

The Israeli military has shot at Lebanese civilians from Odaisseh, killing one and injuring four others, one of them critically. The bullets were shot at the entrance of the town alongside southern Lebanese borders. Two civilians were injured in Yaroun and two in Houla as well. Residents of Houla were not been able to go farther than 300 meters into their village. Israeli soldiers fire at the residents every time they try to advance. The regime’s presence on Lebanese soil is another blatant violation against the ceasefire agreement that took effect in late November last year. At least 24 civilians have been killed and over 130 injured since the Lebanese began to return to their homes in the south in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.

Israel West Bank raids

Israeli occupation forces continue to attack areas in the West Bank, killing 2 people in a refugee camp. Hamas has condemned an Israeli assassination attempt in Nur al Shams in the occupied West Bank as a vain attempt to eliminate the resistance. The resistance movement vowed to inflict more blows to the occupation forces. The Hamas reaction follows an Israeli drone attack that killed Ihab Abu Attiya, the commander of Qassam Brigades in Tulkarm and another fighter. That is the latest in a series of Israeli aggression targeting several areas in the West Bank including Bethlehem, Nablus and Tulkarm. In al-Khalil, dozens of homes were raided and vandalized. IOF troops have also abducted some 20 civilians including four children. Meanwhile, in Qalandiya people attended a funeral ceremony for Palestinian teenage boy Adam Sab Laban who was killed by Israeli fire a day earlier.
