Return to homeland
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are heading back to northern Gaza. Palestinians are moving through the now-open Netzarim Corridor into the north, while being watched over by Israeli tanks. They are carrying their belongings and essentials. This comes as the regime had earlier prevented Palestinians from returning to northern Gaza, which was later slammed by Hamas as a truce violation. Officials in Gaza say over 300,000 displaced Palestinians have so far returned to the territory's north since Monday. Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, has called the return a victory for Palestinians signaling the failure and defeat of the plans for occupation and displacement.
'Israel brought to its knees'
The Leader of the Islamic republic of Iran says the small territory of Gaza brought armed to the teeth Israel to its knees. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei noted that the resistance, which began in the Islamic Iran, brought some Muslim nations to the scene, and awakened the conscience of many non-Muslims. He also said despite the martyrdom of the Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the resistance movement showed that not only was it not eliminated but its motivation has increased and is able to stand against Israel. Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei called the US the total manifestation of colonialism and arrogance. Ayatollah Khamenei made the speech in a meeting held with senior Iranian officials and ambassadors of Islamic countries to Tehran on the occasion of Eid al-Mab'ath, marking the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) divine appointment as the final messenger of God.
US-Brazil migrant row
Brazil has summoned the top US envoy to Brasilia over the mistreatment of the deported Brazilian migrants. Gabriel Escobar was called in after the South American country expressed outrage over migrants arriving by plane in handcuffs. The deportees say they faced physical abuse and were denied bathroom breaks during the flight. Brazil's government has slammed what it called a "flagrant disregard" for the rights of migrants expelled from the US. This comes as Latin America wrestles with US President Donald Trump's return to power bringing a hard-line anti-immigration agenda. On Monday, US officials said the crackdown resulted in around 1,200 arrests in a single day, which is the biggest number since Trump took office a week ago.
