Basij Tehran parade
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has staged a parade on the streets of the capital Tehran. The drill was part of the week-long Great Prophet-19 military exercises carried out in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah. 110,000 Basij voluntary forces paraded the streets of downtown Tehran. IRGC forces displayed their specialized defense capabilities as well as modern military equipment. The maneuver is aimed at demonstrating the military might of Iranian armed forces in the face of any foreign threat. On Thursday the IRGC wrapped up its large-scale exercises in Kermanshah where air and ground units were put to test in terms of combat readiness.

Gaza rising casualties
Day 462 of the US-Israeli genocidal war on Gaza claims more Palestinian lives in the blockaded territory. Fresh Israeli airstrikes in two locations have left several people dead and many others injured. Shelling in the Nuseirat and al-Maghazi refugee camps have also caused casualties. According to UNICEF, more than 70 kids have been killed in the first week of 2025 alone. Over a million children are living in makeshift tents ill-suited to withstand the harsh winter weather. Since October 2023, over 46,000 Palestinians have been killed with the death toll rising daily. A new study published in the Lancet medical journal says the real number of Palestinians killed is much higher than reported. According to the study, Gaza's death toll was 41% higher than what's reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry in the first nine months of the genocidal war.
