Israel's expansionist policies

The Israeli regime has directed the military to prepare for a stay throughout the winter in the UN-patrolled buffer zone on Syria’s Golan Heights. Israeli minister for military affairs, Israel Katz, said everything must be done to ensure the army's readiness on-site. Israel deployed troops to the buffer zone east of the occupied Golan Heights after the fall of the Syrian government. The UN says the move violates the 1974 Agreement on Disengagement between Israel and Syria. The regime has conducted nearly 500 airstrikes on civilian and military infrastructure in Syria since the militants’ takeover. Israel’s latest attack targeted a military base on Mount Qasioun overlooking the capital Damascus. The UN chief has expressed concern over the attacks. Antonio Guterres says Israel’s airstrikes are an extensive violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Syria crisis

The United Nations says an estimated 1.1 million people have been displaced in Syria since late November. That's when fighting between the Syrian government forces and the armed opposition groups began to escalate. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said most of the newly displaced are women and children. The OCHA said nearly 640,000 people have fled the Aleppo governorate, while hundreds of thousands of others left Idlib and Hama. It added that more than 400,000 people are currently in hundreds of collective shelters in northeastern Syria, receiving humanitarian aid, including food, hygiene kits, and psychological support.

US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

The Palestinian death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza spirals up as the regime forces target more residential areas. In the deadliest attack, Israel killed 33 Palestinians in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Nearly 80 others were injured or missing. That’s according to the Gaza Government Media Office. Hamas resistance movement denounced the strike as a crime against humanity. To the center of the strip, a photojournalist was killed in an airstrike on Gaza City. The number of media crew killed in the Israeli genocide has now risen to 194. More than 44,800 Palestinians have been killed in the genocide since last October.
