US economic war on Iran

Iran’s foreign minister has slammed US President Donald Trump’s latest sanctions campaign against the Islamic Republic, saying that the move is a diversion from America’s own financial crises. Abbas Araghchi cited unprecedented US debt and surging interest costs as two examples of Washington’s economic problems. He said doubling down on failed policies will only bring further defeat and enmity of Iranians. Iran’s top diplomat said US economic terrorism threatens global economy and sovereignty worldwide. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also says the US has made another miscalculation and is heading towards its next failure. He said Washington is forced to create a bigger defeat for itself each time to cover up its last failure. He said the military war did not work so now they have called the next failure economic war. On Wednesday, Trump announced what he called the most crushing economic operation against the Islamic Republic. He said any country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities to provide any type to lifeline to Iran will face economic consequences.

Yemen Saudi strikes

Yemen’s Armed Forces say they have carried out two military operations targeting sites inside Saudi Arabia. Armed forces’ spokesman announced that drones struck Najran Airport and the Aramco facility in Najran, stressing that both operations achieved their objectives. Yahya Saree said the strikes were a direct response to Saudi Arabia’s violation of Saa’da province’s airspace with drone aircraft. He noted that Yemen will continue defending its sovereignty against any breach. Yemen has intensified attacks on Saudi positions amid rising tensions between Riyadh and Sana’a.

Turkey-Israel tensions

Turkey says it will stand with Syria and will counter Israel’s “destabilizing activities” in the country. In a press conference, Turkish Defense Ministry spokesman Zeki Aktürk called on the international community to take stronger action against Israeli attacks. Meanwhile, Turkish presidency communications director said the Israeli prime minister's threats against Turkey and Syria reflected “his growing international isolation, fears, and delusions.” The remarks came after Israeli warplanes carried out strikes on an airbase in northern Syria. Israel claimed the attack was aimed at "preventing" a Turkish military presence there. Syrian officials rejected the claim, saying the base was being rebuilt for the Syrian Air Force, with Turkish personnel present only for military training and cooperation.
