Iran responds to US aggression
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has announced that it has carried out fresh drone attacks against US military bases in Kuwait and Jordan. According to IRGC statement, a US early warning radar system in Kuwait was completely destroyed. A warehouse for equipment and air parts and a hangar for US MQ9 drones at Ali Al Salem Base were also targeted. It also called on the people of Kuwait to not allow their country’s territory to be used as a launching point by US forces for attacks and the killing of Muslims. In a separate statement, the IRGC also said C17 transport planes and P8 aircraft in Jordan’s Aqaba airport were targeted by ballistic missiles. It said 20 warehouses accommodating US army troops were destroyed in Jordan’s al-Azraq area as well. The IRGC said the attacks inflicted heavy losses on American forces.
US aggression on Iran
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has strongly condemned recent US attacks on civilian infrastructure, comparing them to those of Daesh terrorists. Esmaeil Baqaei made the remark at his weekly press briefing. He said strikes on hospitals, bridges and public facilities are attacks on the Iranian people's right to life, security and human dignity. He praised the resilience of residents in Iran's southern provinces, describing them as guardians of the Persian Gulf. Baqaei said future management of the Strait of Hormuz rests with Iran through consultations with Oman. He said Iran will not allow aggressors to threaten their country from the strategic waterway. On possible future talks with Washington, he rejected what he called a false choice between diplomacy and war, saying diplomacy and defense work together to protect Iran's national interests. Baqaei accused Washington of violating its commitments under the MOU. He confirmed that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed ceasefire proposals with Qatari officials, saying mediators have presented ideas to reduce tensions while Iran pursues both diplomatic and military efforts.
Global oil prices
Oil prices have once again jumped as the US continues its aggression against the Islamic Republic. Brent oil prices rose two percent to trade above 90 dollars per barrel, reaching its highest level since June 11. US West Texas Intermediate crude also jumped to 84 dollars a barrel. The new round of US attacks against Iran has reignited concerns over possible disruptions to global energy supplies, particularly through Iran’s Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route for about 20 percent of the world’s oil. Iran’s armed forces say they are in full control of the strait and that no amount of oil, gas, or fertilizer can pass via the Strait without Iran’s permit.
