The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has launched a new wave of attacks against American bases in the West Asia region as part of a large-scale response to US and Israeli aggression against Iran.

The IRGC said in a statement on Saturday that the new counterstrike targeted the US’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, as well as other bases in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The operation, dubbed True Promise 4, also hit additional military and security sites deep within the Israeli-occupied territories.

“IRGC missiles and drones struck the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, other US bases in Qatar and the UAE, and military and security centers within the occupied territories,” the statement read.

The attacks are part of a massive coordinated Iranian response to recent US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran that began in the early hours of Saturday.

In the first wave of retaliatory attacks earlier on Saturday, the IRGC carried out a string of simultaneous and massive missile strikes against US military bases across West Asia.

Arabic-language media outlets reported that the Iranian missiles struck US military installations in Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Local media reported that a series of projectiles slammed into a base where US Marines are based in Jafir region of Bahrain. Bahraini authorities stated that the service center of the Fifth Fleet of the US Navy was also hit as a result.

The Qatar-based Al Jazeera news network also reported that a number of loud explosions were heard in Kuwait City. Sirens warning of incoming missiles were triggered.

IRGC also announced that it destroyed the sophisticated FP132 radar system in Qatar. The radar had a 5,000 km range and was specifically equipped to counter ballistic missiles.

In a separate statement, the IRGC's public relations office said at least 200 military personnel were killed or injured in the Saturday retaliatory attacks and noted that several US and Israeli missiles failed to reach Iranian territory, landing in deserts and cities across Iraq and the Persian Gulf region.

The latest Israeli-American aggression came in the middle of indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington, mediated by the Omani government.

More than 90 children were killed in an unprovoked and illegal Israeli-American aggression in the southern Hormozgan province on Saturday after an elementary school was hit.

There has been no official statement on the casualty toll yet.
