Israel's Doha terror attack

Qatar has condemned in the strongest terms Israel’s aggression against its territory, which targeted the leaders of Hamas. The country’s prime minister stressed that Qatar will not tolerate any violation of its sovereignty and reserves the right to respond to this blatant aggression. Speaking at a press conference following the Israeli strike, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, described the attack as state terrorism and a deliberate attempt to destabilize regional security and stability. He said the attack not only violated international law, but also crossed all moral and ethical lines. Sheikh Mohammed, who also serves as Qatar’s foreign minister, said the attack proves that a rogue player is operating in the region with political recklessness. He stressed that Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is a rogue actor who practices state terrorism, and is pushing the region toward irreparable damage. The official warned that Israel’s behavior is dragging the entire world to the edge of catastrophe. Sheikh Mohammed said Qatar will continue to mediate a ceasefire in Gaza, despite the regime’s attack.

Gaza humanitarian flotilla

The Global Sumud Flotilla, which is heading to Gaza, says another one of its boats has been struck by an unknown drone off the coast of Tunisia. Organizers said the flotilla’s largest vessel, Alma, was hit by a drone in the port of Sidi Bou Said Wednesday night, sparking a fire on board the Spanish ship. No injuries were reported, and the flotilla said the situation was brought under control. The Global Sumud Flotilla departed Spanish port city of Barcelona late last month with about 20 ships. Dozens more vessels joined the flotilla later along the way. The coalition includes lawmakers and activists from 44 countries. The new incident came just a day after another vessel, known as “the Family Boat” was struck in a similar attack. The flotilla’s organizers have slammed acts of aggression intended to intimidate and derail the humanitarian mission. They reaffirmed that the mission to break the siege of Gaza will continue with determination and resolve.

Iran-IAEA relations

Iran's foreign minister and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency have signed an agreement in the Egyptian capital on resuming cooperation, following illegal US-Israeli attacks on the Iranian nuclear facilities. Araghchi said following illegal attacks on Iran's nuclear sites, which were protected under the Safeguards Agreement, cooperation with the IAEA was not possible within the previous framework. In reaction, he added, the Iranian parliament passed a law to suspend cooperation with the IAEA. Araghchi stressed that the new agreement totally conforms to the Iranian parliament’s law and provides a new framework for cooperation, while guaranteeing Iran's inalienable rights. He stressed that the new agreement takes into account Iran's exceptional security conditions, while reflecting the IAEA's technical requirements.
