'Stop supporting Israel'
Leaders of the UK's political parties have called on the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer to impose sanctions on Israel over its genocidal war on Gaza. In a joint letter to Starmer, members of political parties from north of Ireland, Scotland and Wales urged the prime minister to take immediate action to push Israel to stop its military aggression in Gaza. They demand the government stop all arms sales to Tel Aviv. The signatories also want government support for independent, international investigations into the war crimes and crimes against humanity that Israel has committed in Gaza. They slammed the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza as man-made and avoidable urging London to push for unimpeded delivery of food, water and humanitarian aid to the famished strip. More than a dozen British MPs had also written to the British Prime Minister earlier expressing deep concerns over Netanyahu’s Gaza occupation plan.
'Flagrant violation of intl. law'
Jordan has condemned Netanyahu’s visit to a West Bank settlement as a “flagrant violation of international law.” Jordan has stressed Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied territories and called for international action to protect Palestinians' rights.
Iran regional diplomacy
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Armenia as part of a regional tour aimed at strengthening ties with neighboring countries. Talks will be held regarding a planned corridor that links Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan republic near the border with Iran. The land corridor is part of a deal signed in Washington by Azerbaijan and Armenia. Under the agreement, the US will hold rights for the proposed route which passes near Iranian border. Tehran has welcomed the deal while also warning against foreign intervention near its borders that could undermine regional security and stability. Pezeshkian has expressed hope in furthering trade relations after signing several important documents in Armenia and Balarus.
