A young Palestinian man has succumbed to Israeli army gunshot wounds he sustained the previous day during a raid in the occupied West Bank.
The official Palestinian WAFA news agency reported the death of Abdullah Mohammed Atiyat, 25, adding that he was severely wounded as Israeli forces stormed Qasr Hisham Street in the center of the city of Ariha on Saturday evening and opened fire.
Atiyat was transferred early on Sunday from Ariha Governmental Hospital to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in the occupied city of al-Quds due to the seriousness of his health condition. He was pronounced dead this morning.
On Saturday, Israeli forces arrested two Palestinian minors and inflicted injuries on several others during military offensives throughout the occupied West Bank, while illegal settlers launched a series of assaults aimed at civilians and their properties.
WAFA reported that an Israeli military unit invaded the town of Qusra, located south of Nablus, amidst intense gunfire and the use of tear gas, detaining two brothers prior to their withdrawal.
In the central region of the West Bank, numerous Palestinians experienced temporary asphyxiation due to tear gas canisters discharged by Israeli forces in the Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab, located north of occupied East al-Quds.
Israeli soldiers compelled shop owners in the Old City of al-Khalil to shut their businesses as numerous illegal settlers paraded through the area.
In the meantime, three Palestinian farmers in Khallet al-Nahleh, located south of Bethlehem, were assaulted by illegal Israeli settlers.
In the northern Jordan Valley, witnesses reported that illegal settlers roamed through the Bedouin community of Khirbet Samra.
Under the shadow of the genocidal war in Gaza, Israel has accelerated its annexation drive in the West Bank. The occupied West Bank has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967.
The Israeli military has intensified daily raids and mass arrests, notably in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, where Israeli bulldozers have razed entire residential areas, expelling at least 40,000 people.
Approximately 770,000 illegal Israeli settlers live in the West Bank, across 180 settlements and 256 outposts – including 138 classified as agricultural or pastoral, according to Palestinian reports.
Israeli data show illegal settlers staged 414 attacks against the Palestinians in the West Bank in the first half of 2025, up 30% from 2024. At least 1,013 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and settlers since October 2023.
