Resistance fighter Georges Abdallah

Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a Lebanese resistance fighter, has returned to Lebanon after 41 years of imprisonment in France, where he was held on politically motivated charges.

Born in 1951 into a Maronite Christian family, Abdallah dedicated his life to Arab nationalist causes and the Palestinian struggle, actively joining the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and later co-founding the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Factions.

Arrested in 1984 and sentenced to life in 1987, he maintained that he was a fighter, not a criminal, resisting imperialism and occupation.

Despite being eligible for release since 1999, France, under US and Israeli pressure, refused to free him.

Abdallah’s unwavering stance, refusing to apologize or express regret, turned him into a symbol of steadfastness.

His case sparked decades of protests and solidarity campaigns, highlighting the contradictions of Western democracies that imprison those who resist occupation.

In this episode, we sit down with Georges Abdallah himself for an exclusive interview.
