US-Israel Gaza genocide

At least 20 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn, as the regime’s genocidal war rages on. The family of five was killed by an Israeli airstrike on their tent in Gaza City. Israeli attacks have also intensified across Khan Younis, where an airstrike near a community kitchen killed at least one person and wounded several others. Israeli naval forces also killed a child along Khan Younis' coastline. According to the Gaza health ministry, over 52,800 Palestinians have been killed since the regime began its genocidal campaign in October 2023. More than 119,400 others have been injured.

Iran nuclear program

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran is not seeking a nuclear weapon, but it will not give up on its people’s right to nuclear technology. Araghchi said Tehran remains committed to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty while insisting on its right to peaceful nuclear energy. He criticized double standards adopted by some countries against the Islamic Republic, noting that critics of Iran’s program allow the murderous regime of Israel to possess nuclear weapons. Araghchi made the remarks during the fourth summit of Iran-Arab world in the Qatari capital, Doha. He said Tehran will continue talks with the United States, Europe, China and Russia with good will, adding that achieving a deal is possible if the aim of talks is not for Tehran to achieve nuclear weapons. The fourth round of Tehran-Washington negotiations are set to take place in Oman on Sunday. Araghchi earlier travelled to Saudi Arabia where he briefed his Saudi counterpart on Tehran’s nuclear talks with the US.

India-Pakistan ceasefire

India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire after four days of fighting with New Delhi announcing the cessation of all military actions by both sides. Pakistan’s Foreign minister also confirmed the truce, saying the cessation of hostilities will take effect immediately. Ishaq Dar said three dozen countries were involved in the diplomacy that secured the deal. Following the news, Islamabad opened its airspace to all flights. Hours after the announcement, an Indian government source stated that Pakistan violated the ceasefire, with loud blasts reported in Indian-administered Kashmir. Islamabad has not yet commented on the alleged violation. The two countries have been engaged in tit-for-tat attacks since early this week after India accused Pakistan of being involved in the deadly Kashmir attack, a charge that Islamabad denies.
