Gaza genocide

More Palestinian civilians are slaughtered in Gaza as the Israeli military presses ahead with its air and artillery strikes on the blockaded territory. Since the early hours of Thursday, nearly 40 lives have been lost across the Strip, most of them women and children. In one of the latest attacks, Israeli fighter jets targeted Jabalia market, a densely populated area in the northern Gaza Strip, killing at least Ten Palestinians. Another strike on a displaced family’s tent in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, also killed three children. The fatalities also include a Palestinian journalist, along with his wife and daughter, who were killed in a similar attack in Deir al-Balah. According to Gaza’s health ministry, more than 51,300 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began its genocidal onslaught on Gaza in October 2023.

Slamming Ben Gvir's visit

Pro-Palestinian students and activists at Yale University have held a new protest against Israeli far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s visit to the United States. Demonstrators condemned Israeli crimes against Palestinians. They also slammed Ben-Gvir's policies as oppressive and racist. Protesters called on the university’s administrative officials to cut all ties with the Israeli regime. Yale University has been the scene of several nights of protests over Ben Gvir’s trip. Students have set up an encampment at the campus. On Wednesday, the university announced that it has revoked the official status of the pro-Palestinian group Yalies-for-Palestine and removed it from the school’s database. Ben Gvir began his US trip earlier this week. On Wednesday, he visited a private association affiliated with Yale University near the school’s campus.

Trump's tariff policy

A coalition of twelve American states have filed a lawsuit in a US court against President Donald Trump’s tariff policy, saying it is unlawful and has brought chaos to the country’s economy. The lawsuit asks the court to declare the tariffs illegal and block government agencies from enforcing them. The plaintiffs argue that the president cannot institute the levies without the approval of the Congress. They accused Trump of imposing the sweeping tariffs based on personal whims rather than the sound exercise of lawful authority. Last week, California separately filed a similar suit, warning it could lose billions of dollars in revenue due to the policy. Trump’s controversial measure has been rattling global markets, turning decades of free trade policy on its head. The US president, however, claims his protectionist policy will return manufacturing jobs to the United States.
