A senior Iranian military commander says Iran's armed forces are now stronger than they were during the 12-day war, stressing that the country's military capabilities have expanded since the US-Israeli aggression in June 2025.
Army Chief of Staff and Deputy Coordinator Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the Islamic Republic continues to expand its military capabilities in line with the threats it faces.
“We closely monitor threats and fully understand their depth. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army increases its capabilities in proportion to the threats. And today, our capabilities are greater than those of the 12-day imposed war.”
He said the Iranian Army had drawn valuable lessons from the recent aggression, enabling it to further enhance its operational capabilities.
“Today, we have reached a very good position both in terms of military personnel and in terms of equipment; we have also learned many lessons from recent wars, and we are using these lessons to further enhance the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Sayyari stated.
“Recent wars have provided us with major lessons, and applying them will be very effective in increasing our readiness,” he added.
Referring to the situation along Iran’s western borders and enemy threats, Sayyari stressed that “wherever the great Iranian nation and the soldiers guarding these borders are present, the enemy is mistaken if it believes it can carry out any action.”
The US and Israel launched another round of aggression against Iran on February 28, some eight months after carrying out unprovoked attacks on the country.
Iran swiftly retaliated by launching barrages of missiles and drones at the Israeli-occupied territories, as well as US bases and interests across the region.
A ceasefire took effect on April 7, and on June 18, the presidents of Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to end the war and begin a 60-day diplomatic process to resolve the differences.
Since then, both Israel and the United States have violated the truce, prompting strong retaliatory strikes.
