The United States has launched nearly 30 airstrikes across several provinces throughout Yemen in less than a day, intensifying its aggression against the nation in, what experts have termed as, a self-defeating push to stop Sana’a’s pro-Palestinian operations.
According to Yemeni sources, American warplanes carried out 11 airstrikes on Sana’a province on Tuesday, specifically targeting the Bani Hushaysh and Sanhan districts.
The bombing campaign extended further east, with 13 strikes reported in Ma’rib province, including Majzar and Jawba districts.
In addition, four airstrikes were launched against Kamaran Island off the coast of al-Hudaydah province in western Yemen.
The strikes mark one of the heaviest bombardments carried out in a day by American forces in recent weeks.
The US claims its attacks are aimed at degrading the military capabilities of Yemen’s Armed Forces, particularly the missile and drone units.
The forces have been, since October 2023, when the Israeli regime began a war of genocide against the Gaza Strip, staging numerous operations against Israeli and Israeli-linked targets as a means of forcing Tel Aviv into stopping the warfare and ending a simultaneous siege it has slammed on the Palestinian territory.
According to Yemeni outlets, however, the American assaults have been hitting purely civilian targets, claiming the lives of dozens of non-combatants, since last month, when Washington reinvigorated its aerial aggression against the already impoverished Arab Peninsula nation.
Despite the intensified US campaign, which has been accompanied by British and Israeli attacks against Yemen, the Yemeni servicemen have repeatedly asserted that their operations were a legitimate response to Tel Aviv’s genocide and would continue until the regime halted its aggression and siege against the coastal sliver.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the forces, has, meanwhile, warned that the attacks would not go unanswered.
American naval assets have already come under intense Yemeni reprisal both in response to Washington’s military adventurism and its complicity in the Israeli genocide.
Despite its vast firepower, the Pentagon has failed to prevent Yemeni missile and drone operations.
On Sunday, CNN described the American campaign of aggression as an astronomically-expensive push that had fallen far short of deterring Yemen, which had even threatened to extend the scope of its retaliatory strikes.
