IRGC letter to American people
Seven months after the launch of the unprovoked US-Israeli war on Iran, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has addressed the American public directly, issuing a 25-page open letter that argues Washington failed to achieve its declared objectives despite the enormous military resources committed to the aggression.
The IRGC says Iran has emerged from the war with greater strategic deterrence and argues that the outcome of the aggression demonstrates the limits of US military power. The letter also links the costs of the war to US taxpayers and questions Washington’s continued support for Tel Aviv.
Major news outlets remind that this comes ahead of the US midterm elections, calling on Americans to reconsider the policies of the Trump administration. The timing is particularly significant: Washington and Tehran remain at odds over the Strait of Hormuz and the terms of any potential diplomatic settlement, while the economic costs take their toll on American taxpayers.
