Leader's remarks

The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says last Monday’s mass rallies to mark the 46th anniversary of Islamic Revolution proved that enemies have failed in their soft war against the Iranian nation. Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said enemies have been trying to manipulate the public opinion by creating divisions among people and questioning the steadfastness of the nation against enemies. The Leader said enemies have failed in the face of the resistance of the nation and this is the source of their anger toward Iran. Ayatollah Khamenei added that Iran has developed excellent capabilities against hard threats posed by the enemy. He said Iranian media and officials should focus on fighting soft threats. Ayatollah Khamenei made the comments in a meeting with the people of East Azarbaijan province to mark the anniversary of a 1977 uprising against the former Pahlavi regime. The Leader further acknowledged the existence of problems. But he stressed that such issues won’t prevent people from defending their revolution.

 ‘End normalization with Israel’

The African Union has called on all member states to end any cooperation and normalization bids with Israel. The AU has said in the final statement of its 38th summit that all such cooperation must be halted until the regime ends its acts of aggression against Palestinians. The union also called for prosecution of Israeli officials for committing genocide against the people of Palestine. South Africa was the first nation to drag Israel to the International Court of Justice over its genocidal war on Gaza that has claimed more than 48,000 lives. Last week, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order, halting financial aid to South Africa in retaliation for its ICJ case against Israel. The country has said it will not withdraw its genocide case, despite the Trump administration's threats and aid cut.

US-Europe rift on Ukraine

The UK prime minister say he is prepared to deploy troops to Ukraine as European leaders scramble to come up with a viable response to US policy shift in the Eastern European country. Keir Starmer made the announcement in an article written for the daily Telegraph. He announced clearly for the first time that his government was ready to put boots on the ground in order to secure a lasting peace in Ukraine. The US president Donald Trump’s recent statements about peace negotiations with Russia to end the Ukraine war has worried many EU leaders. The US-Russia talks are set to be held in Saudi Arabia without any direct representation from either the EU or Kiev. On Monday, many EU leaders gather in Paris to discuss how the Bloc must now respond to the issue which they consider part of their collective security.
