Israeli forces have continued their raids across the occupied West Bank, targeting local Palestinians and their properties.
The occupation troops stormed the city of Tulkarm and its refugee camp, deployed military vehicles in the streets, and imposed restrictions on the movement of residents and their cars, the Palestinian WAFA news agency reported on Saturday.
In addition to searching and damaging homes, the Israeli soldiers interrogated Palestinians.
They also seized high-rise buildings and converted them into military barracks and sniper posts, while indiscriminately firing live ammunition into the streets.
Meanwhile, the regime forces maintained their siege on the Thabet Thabet hospital in Tulkarm and obstructed the movement of ambulances and medical staff.
According to the report, the humanitarian situation is dire in the Tulkarm refugee camp, where residents face severe shortages of water, food, medical supplies, and baby formula.
Similar Israeli raids were also reported in the villages of Deir Qadis, Kharbatha Bani Harith, Nabi Saleh, Tell, and Abu Dis.
The occupation forces engaged in clashes with Palestinians in the town of Azzun, east of the city of Qalqilya.
They further raided the homes of two released Palestinian abductees in the city of al-Khalil, firing toxic gas and sound bombs and causing several people to be hospitalized for suffocation.
Palestine urges action against Israel’s ‘ethnic cleansing’ in West Bank
Also on Saturday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called for global action to stop Israel’s ongoing “ethnic cleansing” in the north of the occupied West Bank.
It said the Israeli forces have been raiding the refugee camps of Tulkarem, Jenin and Far’a and “emptying them of their residents” in a blatant violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions.
The West Bank “witnesses the ongoing Nakba as a precursor to the imposition of further occupation control and its consolidation in preparation for annexing it, ... undermining any opportunity to establish a Palestinian state,” it added.
The Israeli military launched its offensive against the occupied West Bank on January 21, claiming that it was targeting resistance fighters of the Jenin Battalion.
Israel has ramped up West Bank violence since October 7, 2023, when it launched its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
Since then, the regime forces have killed more than 900 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
