The Israeli regime has claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinians in a fresh round of aggression across the Gaza Strip as the occupying entity ratchets up its unbridled onslaught on the besieged territory.
Local media reports cited medical sources as saying that the fatalities occurred after the Israeli military targeted with missiles various areas in the north and center of Gaza on Wednesday.
The sources said the raids had also left a total of 27 Palestinians injured in the northern regions of the territory.
The Israeli occupation army bombed in the early hours of the day a residential building in Beit Lahiya, near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, which has been under a tight siege for more than two months.
The attack on the area killed at least 28 people, including women and children, with the high possibility of the death toll rising as the multistory building was reported to have accommodated at least 30 displaced people.
Later in the day, another attack on a residential home in the densely populated Nuseirat refugee camp killed seven people, all members of the same family.
The Palestinian Civil Emergency Service said another two people were killed by an Israeli air raid on a house in Gaza City.
Since the onset of war on October 7, 2023, the ongoing acts of aggression by Israeli forces have killed nearly 44,805 individuals and injured 106,257 others across the Gaza Strip.
Thousands remain unaccounted for, potentially trapped under rubble or lost on the streets, complicating rescue efforts amid the relentless bombardment and extensive debris.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens as nearly the entire population of 2.3 million is now displaced, with many seeking refuge in tents amid severe winter conditions.
Compounding the distress, a fuel shortage, unreliable communication and internet access, along with a significant lack of humanitarian assistance, all raise alarm over the dire situation for civilians in the region.
