Masoud Pezeshkian takes the oath of office as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ninth president on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by top-ranking political figures and foreign dignitaries.
After being administered the oath of office by the parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf in the presence of judiciary chief Mohseni Ejei, Pezeshkian addressed the high-profile gathering.
In his short and powerful speech, he laid out his administration's domestic and foreign policy priorities, while reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s support for the Axis of Resistance.

- Stressed bolstering relations with neighboring countries as his government's top priority.
- Outlined “peace, stability, and strong relations with neighboring countries” as his government’s key foreign policy agenda.
- Pledged to uphold the Islamic Republic's foundational system and adhere to the country’s Constitution and laws.
- Identified “dignity, wisdom, and expediency” as the three foundational pillars of his government's foreign policy framework.
- Stated that his incoming administration would pursue a "constructive and balanced" interaction with the world.
- Remarked that neighboring countries “should not waste their valuable resources in tensions and erosive competitions.”
- Envisioned a landscape where neighboring countries collaborate on economic development and the betterment of future generations.
- Stressed regional security framework led by the regional countries themselves, without foreign or outside interference.
- Emphasized that foreign powers should not have a foothold in the region or meddle in regional affairs.
- Called for a world in which the people of Palestine are “freed from occupation, oppression, captivity and genocide.”
- Wished for no Palestinian child to be buried under the ruins of their father's house.
- Asserted that those who supply the Israeli regime with child-murdering weapons cannot teach humanity and tolerance to others.
- Criticized the way Western countries apply varying standards to human rights issues.
- Reminded that for some human rights claimants (in the West), the basic rights of humans are measured “based on their skin color, religion, and language.”
- Voiced his government’s commitment to enhancing diplomatic ties with traditional allies and neighboring states.
- Pledged to “stop at nothing” in order to lift oppressive sanctions against Iran.
- Vowed that his government would never give in to pressure and double standards.
- Called on Western countries to adhere to principles of respect and dignity regarding discussions with the Iranian nation.
- Called for pushing the governance system forward with the “compass of peace and progress" for the people of Iran and the region.
