Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi has highlighted the growing anti-Israel sentiments around the globe, saying that the people of the world are concerned about the inaction of international organizations on the occupying regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip.
He made the remarks at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport on Wednesday before leaving for Tajikistan’s capital of Dushanbe to discuss regional issues. After the visit, he will travel to Uzbekistan’s capital city Tashkent to attend the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Raeisi said that Gaza is the most important issue that he will raise at the ECO summit and in his meetings with the heads of states on the event’s sidelines.
“All the concerned people with any dialect, religion and faith and everywhere in the world today have serious hatred of the Zionist regime and its horrible crimes,” he added.
Raeisi noted that support mechanisms for the oppressed do not work at all and failed.
“People are upset with the action of international organizations towards Gaza,” he noted. “The inaction has become clear to the people as they feel that this mechanism is unfair and the voice of the oppressed is not heard.”
The Iranian president traveled to Dushanbe for an official visit at the invitation of his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon.
He is expected to hold talks with Tajik officials during the trip, which will also see the signing of various cooperation documents between the two countries in economic, commercial, industrial, transportation, energy, cultural and scientific fields as well as new technologies and the fight against narcotics.
Israeli threat to nuke Gaza proves ‘righteousness’ of Iran’s stance
Earlier on Wednesday, the Iranian chief executive referred to a recent threat by an extremist Israeli minister to nuke Gaza, saying the remarks proved the righteousness of Iran’s stance toward Israel.
"The Islamic Republic considers the existence of this terrorist regime dangerous to the society and underlines the need for confronting it and defending the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people,” Raeisi said while addressing a cabinet meeting.
Israel waged a bloody war on the blockaded Gaza Strip on October 7 after Hamas’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.
Since the start of the aggression, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 10,328 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured nearly 26,000 others.
It has also imposed a “complete siege” on the coastal sliver, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
