Afghanistan facing new rounds of terror attacks

After two decades of the US war in Afghanistan, the country is still the scene of deadly attacks by terrorist groups.

The Taliban government is now confronting terrorist groups specially Daesh, raising the possibility of a wider conflict in the Central Asian Country.

At least eight civilians were killed and 20 others wounded in an explosion claimed by ISIL on Sunday in the Afghan capital, Kabul. This comes as the Taliban have always claimed Daesh has no place in Afghanistan and said don’t see ISIS-K as a significant threat. They say security “has been assured” in Afghanistan since the US withdrawal, and the country has been saved from the quagmire of war.

The recent bomb attacks in eastern Jalalabad and Kabul put a big dent in Taliban’s claim that this country is seeing unprecedented peace and security. People of Afghanistan say they are tired of endless war in their country and can’t tolerate more civilian casualties.
