The events of the past two days in the occupied Palestinian territories have caused a lot of concerns among Israelis – especially given the confusion shown by the Israeli army and security forces – directing a barrage of criticisms at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
On Wednesday, Israeli media outlets, including Haaretz newspaper, reported a powerful explosion that had rocked the Tomer factory manufacturing advanced weapons a day earlier. Early on Thursday morning, the media also reported that a missile had landed near the regime’s nuclear facility in Dimona.
Netanyahu’s rival, Avigdor Lieberman, took the opportunity to say that there is “no functioning government, and the power of the deterrence is spent.” He said that Netanyahu “is asleep at the wheel because he is busy with his personal affairs,” and called on the Knesset to “end the paralysis.”
According to an article published by Iran's Nour News, such whirlwinds that Israel is now reaping are the direct results of the winds swon by Netanyahu, which now have come back to haunt the Israeli premier, who has taken dangerous risks to get away with heavy economic charges and keep himself in power.
“Now, the main threat to the existence of this illegitimate regime is the intense social, economic and religious conflicts. The continuation of the current circumstances and rising insecurity will definitely exacerberate conditions, even though Israel was established on the foundation of insecurity and, naturally, will never see security,” the article read.
It argued that the two incidents conveyed “clear messages” for the Israeli regime’s evil rulers that the continuation of their wicked acts could impose even heavier costs on the regime and pose bigger threats to it.
Israel has in recent months conducted regular attacks on Syrian soil.
The regime is also widely speculated to be responsible for the November 27 assassination of Iran’s top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, as well as an attack on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility earlier this month, which many said was intended to destroy prospects of a US return to its obligations under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
Israeli media reported last week that the US has conveyed to Israel in no uncertain terms that Tel Aviv’s “chatter” over its involvement in the Natanz attack must stop as it was “dangerous and detrimental” to the Joe Biden administration’s attempts to rejoin the nuclear agreement.
“The situation for Netanyahu has changed dramatically compared to the time when [the former US President] Donald Trump was in office, and some American officials have explicitly warned Israel against continuing its vicious and costly behaviors,” Nour News noted.
It added, “The new US administration has conveyed to Israel that it is not willing to pay the political and security costs of Israel’s wickedness under the new circumstances, and that it will not support such acts.”
The article concluded by saying that Netanyahu’s foolishness and wicked acts have jeopardized Israel’s security, which is the most important element for the regime’s survival, noting that it is not clear whether there remain any opportunities in the future for the regime to rectify its mistakes if Netanyahu fails to realize the messages of the recent incidents.
