'Hitler's last letter' and other WWII documents up for sale at auction held to fund COVID fight

The last signed letter allegedly written by Adolf Hitler from his besieged bunker, along with other World War II documents are going up for auction in the so-called 'Never Surrender' event organized by Alexander Historical Auctions in Chesapeake City, Maryland.

"(The auction) includes Adolf Hitler's last letter written from the bunker, saying that he would remain in Berlin, and we know of course what happened to Hitler and his evil world following the writing of that letter," said Basil 'Bill' Panagopulos, president of the Alexander Historical Auctions, on Tuesday.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the auction will be conducted online and over the telephone in an event due to take place within the next few weeks.

"The top document in the sale is a document valued at $500,000 (€457,165) to $1 million (€914,330). The entire proceeds from the sale of that document will be donated to four individual charities, all benefiting the fight against coronavirus," stated Panagopulos.

The total value of the documents up for sale is estimated at its low end at approximately two million dollars (€1.83 million), according to the auction house.
