Stan Wawrinka has made it through to the semi-finals of the European Open in Antwerp as he beat France's Gilles Simon 6-3, 6-7 and 6-2.
The fourth-seeded Wawrinka got off to a powerful start and took the opener 6-3, but the 34-year-old Swiss let slip a match point in the second set to hand it over to Simon in the tie-breaker.
Wawrinka then remained calm in the decider and broke the Frenchman twice to reach the last four in Antwerp, after two hours and 14 minutes.
In the semi-finals on Saturday, Wawrinka will face Italian sensation Jannik Sinner.
