Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip took part in the 78th weekly Friday demonstration against the Israeli occupation.

The protest was part of the Great March of return rallies which began in late March 2018 to demand the right of return for Palestinian refugees and the complete lifting of the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.

Children participating in the peaceful protest wanted to make their voices heard.

Israeli forces once again used lethal force against the Palestinian protesters.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 300 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the protests, among them some 50 children.

Gaza has been under an Israeli siege since June 2007, which has caused a sharp decline in living standards. Israel has launched three major wars against the enclave, killing thousands of Gazans each time and destroying the impoverished territory’s already poor infrastructure.

People here say the international community’s silence on Israeli crimes against protesters has emboldened Tel Aviv to continue violations of Palestinians’ rights. However demonstrators in Gaza say they will continue their anti-occupation campaign until their demands are met.
