- Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, has reacted to Saudi Arabia's top cleric for his offensive language against the Iranian nation. The top Iranian diplomat says there is no resemblance between Islam of Iranians and most Muslims with the one preached by the Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia.
- The Syrian army has made fresh advances against foreign-backed militants in its push to liberate the western city of Hama. The army has already regained the control of several villages around the city. Damascus has been making significant gains against militants countrywide.
