Israel returns to political debates in Britain

Israel is back on the British mainstream political agenda as an intense internal struggle about the Zionist entity is raging.

Sarah Champion MP requested in January that the government up a “watch list” of Israelis who have committed war crimes by detaining and interrogating Palestinian children.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn dumped a Labour Friends of Israel vice-chair from his shadow cabinet in his so-called revenge reshuffle. Michael Dugher, a vocal advocate for Israel in the party.

In addition, the Israeli embassy in Britain has sent a letter of complaint to a Muslim Labour MP after she claimed that no Israeli children had been killed by rock-throwing Palestinians.

During a parliamentary debate on child detainees and prisoners in Palestinian Authority-controlled territories, the MP Naz Shah asserted that it was “absolutely unacceptable” to arrest children.
