Bomb attacks leave 15 people dead, 9 wounded across Iraq
At least 15 Iraqi people have lost their lives and nine others sustained injuries after two separate road bombs went off in Ramadi and Baghdad.
One exploded near a popular market in the Mahmudiya district, south of the capital Baghdad, on Sunday, killing two people and wounding nine others, Arabic-language al-Sumeria news website reported.
Meanwhile, at least 13 people, including seven women and three children, also lost their lives in another blast in the al-Bu Ghanim village, in Sufiyah district, east of the Anbar provincial capital, Ramadi,
According to the report, the civilians were on the move to escape from the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group’s violence in the region.
Since retaking the city from Daesh in late December 2015, Iraqi army has continued to fight Daesh militants, who regrouped in eastern parts of the city. In Sunday clashes in eastern Ramadi, Iraqi forces managed to kill at least 17 terrorists.
The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by violence ever since Daesh began an offensive in Iraqi territory in June 2014.
Army soldiers and Popular Mobilization units have joined forces in a bid to take back militant-held regions in joint operations.
