More than six months into the US-Israeli war against Iran, a fundamental question is emerging: Has Washington recognized that the conflict may serve neither Donald Trump’s interests nor those of the American people?
The war began with the United States and Israel holding overwhelming advantages in air power, intelligence, and precision weaponry. But over the past six months, Iran has adapted, developing new tactics, strengthening its air defenses, sustaining missile and drone production, and relying on asymmetric warfare to impose costs on a far more technologically advanced adversary.
The pressure is also extending beyond the battlefield. Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are reverberating through global energy markets. At the same time, Washington continues to maintain tens of thousands of troops across the region, exposing its forces to heightened risks.
