Four Israeli troops were wounded in southern Lebanon as the occupation forces continued airstrikes and ground violations that have deepened doubts over efforts to stabilize a fragile ceasefire.
An Israeli military statement said the soldiers were injured on Thursday during what it described as a close-quarters encounter in southern Lebanon. According to the military, one officer was moderately wounded, while another officer and two soldiers suffered light injuries. All were evacuated for treatment and their families were informed.
Israeli media reported that the incident took place in the town of Beit Yahoun, where, according to a military spokesperson cited by Ynet, a gunman threw a grenade at Israeli forces before being killed.
The clash unfolded against the backdrop of the regime’s continued occupation of areas in southern Lebanon.
That posture has fueled growing instability on the ground. On Friday, Israeli forces carried out two new airstrikes near the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon. No immediate details were available on damage or possible casualties.

Hours earlier, Israeli warplanes had also struck Beit Yahoun in the Bint Jbeil district.
The renewed strikes come despite the June 18 Iran-US Memorandum of Understanding, which called for an immediate and permanent halt to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
Yet from the outset, implementation has been uneven, with Israeli attacks continuing in border villages and in Beirut’s southern suburbs, killing civilians and raising fresh doubts about whether any truce can hold while occupation and bombardment persist.
Meanwhile, in a Thursday statement, the Israeli military said it had killed five Hezbollah forces in Zawtar al-Sharqiya and one more in the Ali al-Taher Heights area in a fresh escalation.

The Israeli regime is pressing on with an onslaught that began on March 2 and has left a devastating toll across Lebanon.
Official Lebanese figures say Israeli attacks have killed more than 4,230 people and wounded at least 12,179 others. More than one million people have also been displaced, in a campaign that has brought vast destruction and intensified fears that continued Israeli military action is pushing the situation further away from any durable settlement.
The latest developments also coincide with an unresolved dispute over Israel’s military presence in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has rejected any arrangement that does not ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, while making clear it will continue responding to attacks and occupation incursions.
