Iran inflicted significant losses on the aerial warfare equipment of the United States and the Israeli regime during the US-Israeli aggression on the country that came to a halt with a ceasefire in early April, according to the Commander of the Joint Headquarters of the Iranian Air Defenses.

Brigadier General Alireza Elhami made the remarks in an interview published on Tuesday where he insisted that the US and the Israeli regime had lost billions of dollars worth of aerial warfare equipment, including modern drones, during the war of aggression on Iran.

Elhami said that the loss seriously impacted the US and Israel’s ability to identify and hit targets in Iran and significantly reduced the effectiveness of their airstrikes on the country.

"The Iranian distinctive response employing smart tactics such as dispersion, electronic deception, and precise strikes significantly reduced the impact of their airstrikes and weakened the enemy’s drone capabilities," he said.

The commander said Iran’s air defenses had used rapid radar data processing and other technologies to counter a vast fleet of US and Israeli aircraft and drones including MQ-9 Reaper, Hermes 900, Orbiter, Lucas, and Hermes 450 that relied on high volumes of firepower and cutting-edge technologies.

"Iran’s integrated and intelligent air defense network inflicted some of the heaviest equipment losses (ever seen) in the history of aerial warfare on the air power of aggressor enemies," said Elhami.

The remarks confirm reports published during the days of the aggression on Iran showing that the country had downed dozens of modern US and Israeli drones.

The Iranian air defenses also shot down several US fighter jets, including some that were hit while flying over the country or in the regional airspace.

Experts say Iran’s successful downing of US warplanes and drones and its attacks on aerial capabilities of American airbases in the region significantly influenced Washington’s decision to halt the aggression as part of a ceasefire announced on April 8.
