Iran nationwide funerals

Iranians have attended mass funerals for members of the security forces martyred in attacks by armed rioters over the past several days. Holding pictures of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and waving Iranian flags, mourners took the opportunity to reaffirm their allegiance to the Islamic establishment. In the cities of Shiraz, Qom, and Hamadan, the ralliers bid farewell to the martyrs, before putting them in their final resting place. Protests erupted in Iran around two weeks ago after some shopkeepers and businesspeople temporarily closed their businesses to protest the falling value of the national currency. The protests turned violent in some places, with security forces and public property being targeted by armed rioters.

'US, Israel behind Iran's riots'

Iran’s top security body says the United States and Israel are organizing the riots of the past few days in the country. In a statement, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council says the latest statements by the US president confirm the collusion between the two regimes to undermine the Iranian people’s lives. Ali Larijani says the riots began as protests against economic problems, but they were hijacked by Israel to destabilize Iran. Larijani added that the Iranian people have already demonstrated their unity, as in the 12-day war against Israel. He said all destructive plans will be thwarted with the same unity.

Trump Greenland threats

Greenland's parliament has strongly rejected US President Donald Trump's threats to take control of the Arctic island. In a rare move, all five political parties in the parliament released a joint statement condemning recent statements by Trump as extremely disrespectful. The statement emphasized that Greenland's future must be decided by the people themselves. The US president has doubled down on his threats to acquire the Denmark-run Island, warning that if Greenland does not make a deal with the u-s, Washington will do it "the hard way." Trump claims the u-s needs to own the territory to prevent Russia or China from occupying the island. Trump’s latest comments come amid escalating tensions between the US and its Nato allies, including Denmark, which has firmly rejected Washington’s stance.
