Palestinians' suffering continues
People in Gaza have started the new year with no hope or certainty as Israeli forces launch more attacks across the besieged territory. A child was killed in Jabalia in northern Gaza. Health officials say at least one other Palestinian was killed and another injured in assaults over the past day. Eastern areas of Gaza City have also come under artillery fire. Israel has killed at least 416 Palestinians and wounded more than 1,150 others since the October 10 ceasefire. The overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza has gone past 71,270.
Global condemnation of Israel move
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has reiterated the country’s right to nuclear enrichment, that's essential for the production of cancer treatment medicines. Mohammad Eslami described uranium enrichment as the foundation of nuclear medicine, highlighting Iran’s recent achievements in producing numerous radiopharmaceuticals used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers. He referred to the new US National Security Strategy which identifies nuclear technology, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology as key pillars of development. Eslami said if such technologies are essential for the United States, they cannot be deemed illegitimate for Iran. The top official emphasized that Iran’s nuclear capacities belong to the nation and the path of progress will continue with strength by relying on indigenous knowhow and the determination of Iranian youth.
