Israel Gaza ceasefire violations

The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to worsen as Israeli forces launch fresh attacks on civilians while issuing new evacuation orders for parts of the territory. Three more Palestinian were killed, and several others wounded after the regime’s forces opened fire on civilians near the Yellow Line, in northern and southern Gaza. Multiple casualties were also reported after Israeli forces targeted civilians in Jabaliya, in northern Gaza. Four bodies were also retrieved from under the rubble. The death toll from the Israeli genocide is now above 70,900, with nearly 171,200 others injured. Israeli forces also issued forcible eviction orders for Palestinians east of Gaza City’s al-Tuffah neighborhood. The orders target an entire residential block in the area designated by the regime as a safe zone. They have triggered a large-scale displacement, with hundreds of families beginning to move westward. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is also deteriorating by the hour. On Thursday, al-Awda Hospital, in the Nuseirat refugee camp, stopped its services due to a power outage. The facility lost electricity after fuel needed to operate generators ran out, amid Israel’s ban on entry of essential supplies.

Plight of Palestinian prisoners

Palestinian prisoners’ rights groups have released a new disturbing report, asserting that Israeli authorities continue to carry out systematic repression against Palestinian prisoners. The report said prisoners are facing an integrated system of organized torture, which is part of Israel’s ongoing campaign of genocide and colonial erasure against the Palestinian people. It added that testimonies obtained through legal visits to Ofer, Negev, and other Israeli prisons, point to escalating and organized torture against Palestinian detainees by special Israeli military units. The report said Palestinian prisoners are subjected to systematic starvation, denial of medical treatment and healthcare, and the confiscation of necessities. They are also facing constant humiliation and various forms of abuse around the clock. In Gilboa and Shatta prisons, Israeli forces violently attack prisoners, firing gas canisters into cells, while using batons, electric shocks, and police dogs. The report said around 350 child detainees also live in tragic conditions, deprived of family visits and medical care, and subjected to beatings and malnutrition.

Pyongyang missile program

The head of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea says Pyongyang will continue to develop missiles in the next five years. Kim Jong-un made the remarks while visiting the country’s major munitions enterprises in the last quarter of 2025. According to the DPRK’s official news agency, Kim said "the country's missile and shell production sector is of paramount importance in bolstering war deterrence." He also ratified draft documents for the modernization of major munitions enterprises, which will be submitted to a key party congress expected to be held in early 2026. The documents will set a development plan for Pyongyang for the next five years. Kim’s comments came after he oversaw the construction of an 8,700-ton nuclear-powered submarine capable of launching surface-to-air missiles, and the test-firing of long-range surface-to-air missiles. According to the DPRK’s official media, the test was aimed at assessing Pyongyang’s strategic technology for developing a new type of high-altitude missile.
