'UK hired US private military contractors to carry out surveillance flights for Israel in Gaza'

Matthew Kennard is an author and independent investigative journalist. Matt Kennard was formerly Head of Investigations at Declassified UK. He was a fellow and then director at the Center for Investigative Journalism in London.

He is also the author of Irregular Army, Silent Coup & The Racket. Kennard is the author of Irregular Army: How the US Military Recruited Neo-Nazis, Gang Members, and Criminals to Fight the War on Terror.

Mathew Kennard also spoke about the Israeli lobby and their influence over UK parliamentarians. His findings include: Some 180 of Britain's 650 MPs in the last parliament accepted funding from pro-Israel lobby groups or individuals during their political career, Declassified can reveal.

That includes 130 Conservative MPs, 41 Labour MPs and three Liberal Democrats.

Three members of the DUP, two independents and Reform’s only MP complete the list. The total value of the donations from pro-Israel groups, individuals, and Israeli state institutions amounts to over one million pounds. Between them, the politicians made over 240 paid-for trips to Israel, at a cost of over half a million pounds.

The UK compliance in the Gaza genocide has also been researched by Mathew Kennard. He has said: The British spy squad is assisting Israel as it bombs Gaza. A leak to the New York Times has shed more light on the secret role Britain is playing in Israel's assault on Gaza.

A senior Israeli official has said that a British spy team has been deployed to Israel since it began bombing Gaza in October.

Declassified previously revealed that 36 military transport aircraft have gone from RAF Akrotiri on Cyprus to Tel Aviv. Six were C-17s, while 30 were A400M planes.

The UK military could have transported up to 4,300 personnel in these planes and this is likely to include SAS troops.

A senior Israeli official says the covert British team gives "added value" to its intelligence operations. The official adds that Britain is providing intelligence from spy flights that "Israel cannot collect on its own."

The new information raises further questions about British ministers' complicity in war crimes, after they ordered hundreds of UK spy flights over Gaza in support of Israel and sent thousands of munitions to the country after it began its assault on the Palestinian territory.
