Pain raining on Gaza

The Israeli regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, carried out in violation of the ceasefire with Hamas, continue to bring more destruction and suffering across the territory. In the latest attacks, two airstrikes targeted northwest of Rafah city in the south. In addition, the regime's artillery shelled eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza and Jabalia refugee camp in the north. Since the ceasefire took effect last month, Israeli forces have launched near-daily attacks in Gaza. These strikes have killed at least 260 people and injured hundreds of others. Since October 2023, the regime’s genocidal war on Gaza has claimed the lives of around 69,200 people. Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees has warned of catastrophic consequences from the first wave of rainfall for displaced families in Gaza. The UNRWA warned that conditions in worn-out tents will become far more critical.

UK doctors strike

Doctors across the UK have walked off the job again, launching a five-day strike over pay and training posts. The action is already disrupting hospitals nationwide, with warnings of delays and cancellations for patients. The dispute marks the 13th strike since 2023, underscoring deep divisions between the government and the medical workforce.

RSF crimes in Sudan

The UN Human Rights Council has held a special session on Sudan as al-Fashir fell to the Rapid Support Forces after an 18-month siege. Member states of the Council have adopted a resolution calling for a fact-finding mission into mass killings in al-Fashir. The UN body condemned as appalling the atrocities committed by the RSF in al-Fashir. Meanwhile, Sudan’s army chief has declared general mobilization, urging citizens to confront the RSF. Al-Fashir’s fall in late October displaced nearly 100,000 people. The conflict in Sudan between the Army and the RSF has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced millions.
