'Are these not war crimes?' US congresswoman blasts Israel over killing Gaza children

US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a right-wing ally of President Donald Trump, has denounced Israel’s war crimes against the Palestinians after the regime’s military killed more than 100 people, including at least 46 children, over the past 24 hours in Gaza.

In a post on X, the congresswoman said Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to war crimes, condemning the killing of dozens of children during the latest wave of airstrikes.

“Israel’s military said Wednesday that the ceasefire was back on in Gaza after it killed 104 people, including 46 children, according to local health officials,” Taylor Greene wrote. “46 CHILDREN!!! Are these not war crimes?”

The strikes, among the bloodiest since the start of Israel’s campaign of genocide in Gaza in October 2023, came amid a US-brokered ceasefire, which came into effect on October 10, 2025, and was expected to halt hostilities against the besieged Palestinian territory.

Trump defended the strikes while on a trip to Asia on Tuesday, saying Israel “should hit back” when its troops come under attack, an allegation Hamas has dismissed.

Taylor Greene’s remarks highlight a growing rift within the president’s Republican Party, as more right-wing figures question the scale of his administration’s military assistance to Israel and its complicity in the regime’s war crimes.

Earlier this year, the congresswoman also condemned Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians amid the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In the wake of Tuesday’s airstrikes, Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said the situation was “catastrophic and terrifying,” calling them “a clear and flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement.”

“The Israeli strikes targeted tents for displaced people, homes, and the vicinity of a hospital in the Strip,” he said.

The latest attacks further exposed the fragility of a ceasefire marred by repeated violations since it began.

Before the latest attacks, Gaza’s media office said Israel had committed at least 80 violations since the truce took effect on October 10, killing 97 Palestinians and injuring 230 others.
