Israel ceasefire violations

Israeli forces press ahead with their blatant violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, killing and injuring more Palestinians across the besieged territory. According to medical sources, five bodies arrived at Gaza’s hospitals in the past 24 hours, including one killed by the regime’s forces. They added that Israeli forces have killed nearly 90 civilians since the ceasefire took effect on October 11. The death toll from Israeli genocide now exceeds 68,230, with more than 170,370 others injured. Palestinian officials also received 30 Palestinian bodies from Israel, increasing the total number of bodies received from the regime to 195. Most of the bodies showed clear signs of torture and a number of them had been apparently executed by hanging or by being shot at close range. Gaza officials say Israel is still hampering entry of humanitarian aid. Following the truce, less than a thousand trucks have entered the territory, while according to the agreement, over 6,000 trucks were supposed to arrive by October 20.

Israeli crimes in Gaza

Hundreds of Jewish public figures from across the world have called on the United Nations and world leaders to impose sanctions against Israel over the regime’s unconscionable acts in Gaza, which amount to genocide. The demand came in an open letter signed by more than 450 individuals, including former Israeli officials, writers, and award-winning artists. They demanded accountability for Israel’s crimes in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including East al-Quds. They said many of the laws, charters, and conventions established to safeguard and protect human life have been relentlessly violated by Israel. The signatories urged governments to respect rulings of international courts, stop sending arms to Israel, enforce sanctions on the regime, and ensure humanitarian access to Gaza. A recent poll conducted by The Guardian among Jews living in the US revealed that 61 percent of respondents believed that Israel has committed war crimes, while 39 percent said it has committed genocide against Palestinians.

Recognizing Palestine

A new poll has revealed that most Americans now believe that their government should recognize an independent Palestinian state. According to the Reuters/Ipsos poll, a majority of Americans, including 80 percent of Democrats and 41 percent of Republicans, believe that the US should recognize Palestinian statehood. Overall, 59 percent of respondents supported the recognition of Palestine. The poll’s findings indicate that US President Donald Trump’s opposition to recognition of Palestine is increasingly out of step with public opinion. The new revelation came after a growing number of countries, including US allies such as Britain, Canada, France, and Australia, have formally recognized Palestinian statehood. The State of Palestine is now officially recognized by more than 150 member states of the United Nations.
