US-Israeli Gaza genocide
Israeli forces continue to pound Gaza with unrelenting air and artillery strikes, as a new round of indirect ceasefire talks are underway in Egypt. More than a dozen fatalities were reported as a result of the regime’s strikes on Tuesday, which marked two years of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza. The health ministry said hospitals have turned into concrete structures completely devoid of diagnostic and therapeutic components. It added that 25 out of 38 hospitals are out of service, and more than 1,700 medical staff have been killed by Israeli forces. Gaza’s Government Media Office also reported that the Israeli aggression has orphaned 77 children every day. The Red Crescent Society, for its part, said nearly 30 of its members have been killed in the past two years, accusing Israeli forces of directly targeting its staff. Medical sources have also reported 460 deaths due to malnutrition, including 154 children. The genocide in Gaza has so far killed more than 67,170 civilians, leaving about 170,000 others injured.
Gaza ceasefire talks
The head of Hamas negotiating delegation in the new round of Gaza ceasefire talks says the movement intends to conduct responsible and serious negotiations to end the war. Khalil al-Hayya was speaking after the second day of indirect talks between Hamas and Israel concluded in Egypt. Hayya stressed that Hamas responsibly wants to stop the war, but Israel continues to kill civilians in Gaza. He added that the Tel Aviv regime has frequently broken its promises regarding a ceasefire, and this is why there must be international guarantees for ending the aggression on Gaza once and for all. Earlier, a senior Hamas official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the movement has demanded that the release of the last Israeli captive be synchronized with the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces. He said the Hamas delegation insisted that each phase of captives’ release be tied to a corresponding phase of Israel's military withdrawal. Hamas says Israel deliberately seeks to obstruct the current round of talks, as it did in the previous rounds.
Global Sumud flotilla
Swedish pro-Palestine activist, Greta Thunberg, has condemned Israel for torturing the activists on the Global Sumud Flotilla, and blocking another effort for delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. She made the remarks in a presser after arriving in Stockholm. Thunberg denounced the Israeli regime for denying food and clean water to the detained activists on the Gaza-bound flotilla. She also slammed the Tel Aviv regime for the ongoing genocide and blockade of Gaza Strip. The Swedish activist lashed out at the world governments for not taking action against Israeli crimes in Gaza, saying under international law they have a legal obligation to act to prevent and stop genocide. Thunberg, along with more than 470 other international activists, was detained by Israeli regime en route to Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade on the war-torn territory.
