The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council says it has become clear to the world that the Israeli regime shows no mercy to any country, pushing nations to seek mechanisms for cooperation.

Ali Larijani made the remarks on Saturday upon arriving in Beirut to attend a memorial ceremony for Hezbollah martyrs, including prominent Lebanese resistance leaders Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, both assassinated last year in separate attacks by the Israeli regime.

“Since my last visit to Beirut, many developments have taken place in the region, the behavior of the Zionist regime has become more evident to the nations, the words that Martyr Nasrallah spoke decades ago are today clear to everyone,” Larijani highlighted.

“Today, it has become evident to all that the Zionist regime shows no mercy to any country, the incident in Qatar clearly demonstrated this, therefore, today, various nations are seeking to establish mechanisms for cooperation with one another. This is the right approach, and we support it,” he added.

On September 9, the Israeli regime attacked the headquarters of Hamas in Doha, while the resistance group’s leaders gathered to discuss the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal– an act Qatar slammed as “state terrorism.”

Top Hamas leadership survived the assassination bid, but six people were killed in the unprecedented bombing that sparked global condemnation.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani noted that Iran and Lebanon are two nations with a “long history of friendly relations.”

“In recent years, the friendship between our two nations has grown stronger,” he said, adding, “We have always supported the presence of powerful and independent governments. We hope that developments in Lebanon will always serve the Lebanese people and create the conditions for forming a strong and independent government.”

Larijani visited Lebanon in August to address concerns over Lebanese security amid US-Israeli pressure to disarm Hezbollah—a move opposed by most Lebanese, as Hezbollah serves as a resistance force against Israeli occupation and seeks to counter Western influence in the country.

“Lebanon is a small country, but it has a strong people, the resistance was born from the Lebanese nation and is a source of pride for the entire Islamic world, today, it stands as a resilient stronghold against Israel,” Larijani said

He went on to add that Iran is “hopeful about the future of the region. Awakening in the region is on the rise, and we hope it will bring goodness and prosperity to the nations.”

Larijani was also scheduled to meet and hold talks with Nabih Berri, Lebanese Parliament Speaker, and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Government Palace.

He was also set to visit the mausoleum of Martyr Nasrallah and take part in the official anniversary ceremony honoring him, Martyr Safieddine, and a number of other Hezbollah commanders and fighters.
