The Gaza Health Ministry says two hospitals in the largest city of the besieged Palestinian territory are “out of service” due to the Israeli bombing of their surrounding areas.
In its statement released on Monday, the ministry said Israeli attacks in the vicinity of the al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital and the St John Eye Hospital in Gaza City forced the suspension of services in both medical facilities.
It further noted the al-Rantisi hospital had been severely damaged after it was directly bombed by the Israeli military a few days ago.
Israeli strikes also destroyed the Medical Relief Society health center in Gaza City, it added.
Meanwhile, the ministry said that patients and the injured face extreme difficulty in reaching the Jordanian field hospital and al-Quds hospital because of relentless Israeli attacks.
“The occupation is deliberately and systematically targeting the health services system in the Gaza Strip as part of the genocide policy it is waging against the Strip,” it said.
“All facilities and hospitals lack safe roads that enable patients and the wounded to reach them.”
The ministry called on all concerned parties to provide protection for health centers and medical staff.
In defiance of international criticism, Israel recently launched a large-scale invasion of Gaza City.
Israel began its campaign of genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out the historic Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against the usurping entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
The regime has killed at least 65,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children, so far, according to the health ministry of Gaza.
Gaza is also suffering mass starvation caused by Israel’s deliberate blockade of aid into the territory.
